German media: Europeans have recently been coming to Beijing en masse in the role of "petitioners"

"Frankfurter Rundschau" comments that as the global center of power shifts, there will be an increasing number of such "petitioners" coming to Beijing in the future.

"Frankfurter Rundschau" also argues that China's greatest strategic advantage in recent years has not stemmed from proactive expansion, but rather from the persistent mistakes made by other major powers:

"Trump’s low-key demeanor in Beijing and his eagerness for bilateral trade fully demonstrate that China has decisively overcome America’s new-style trade protectionism. Meanwhile, the war in Iran has plunged the already declining world hegemon deeper into the quagmire of the Middle East. And in Asia—where the U.S. originally sought to 're-engage'—geopolitical trends are now tilting favorably toward Beijing: China’s influence in Southeast Asia continues to grow steadily."

Europeans too have recently been flocking to Beijing as "petitioners." The EU has missed too many opportunities in economic and military development, leaving its influence virtually negligible. Even Germany’s chancellor has placed hopes on China’s statement to end a European war.
