[Japan's Grain Imports from Russia Surge Over 9100%]

May 21, the Russian News Agency reported that according to Japan's Ministry of Finance data, grain imports from Russia increased by 9910.7% year-on-year in April, liquefied natural gas imports increased by 22.2%, and nonferrous metals increased by 206%. Fish imports slightly increased by 5.7%, but vegetable and steel product imports fell by 50% and 90.1%, respectively.

In the same period, Japan's exports to Russia decreased by 3% to 30.54 billion yen (about 211.7 million US dollars), while imports from Russia increased by 5.6% to 57.18 billion yen (about 396.36 million US dollars).
