Leader of the Constitutional Democratic Party: No objection to accepting candidates who lost as part of the Centrist Reform Coalition, or nominating them in the House of Councillors election
On March 29, Shuoka Shunichi, leader of the Constitutional Democratic Party, stated at a press conference that "we will not reject those who wish to rejoin the Constitutional Democratic Party after running and losing as candidates under the Centrist Reform Coalition in the previous House of Representatives election."
He also noted, "Rejoining does not automatically mean becoming a candidate in the next House of Representatives election," adding that the party would study this matter while formulating its strategy for the upcoming House of Representatives election. Shuoka further mentioned the possibility of nominating such individuals as candidates in the 2028 summer House of Councillors election.
