Taipei City Councilor Zhong Xiaoping said in an interview with radio host Huang Weihan on the 30th that he is optimistic about Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's smooth re-election, while the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is expected to field Li-jun Cheng as its candidate. He further speculated that, assuming a voter turnout of 67%, Chiang Wan-an could secure around 58% of the votes, with Cheng receiving 42%.

Zhong Xiaoping analyzed that 42% represents the DPP's base support in Taipei, and if Cheng can garner more than 40% of the vote, her role as a "political assassin" would be considered successful. Meanwhile, Chiang Wan-an's re-election appears solid, and should he win over 55% of the vote, he would also have sufficient strength to run for Taiwan's regional leadership position.

However, Zhong Xiaoping believes that Chiang Wan-an will not run for Taiwan's regional leadership in 2028; instead, the Kuomintang (KMT) should entrust Taichung Mayor Lu Xiuyan to challenge for the Taiwan regional leadership post at that time.
