U.S. Vice President Vance stated that if the ceasefire agreement is violated, Iran will face military, diplomatic, and economic pressure from the United States.

Speaking at Matthias Corvinus College in Hungary, Vance said: "President Trump also emphasized that we still possess military, diplomatic influence—and most importantly, special economic leverage. The President told us not to resort to these tools. He has us sitting at the negotiating table. But if Iran does not reciprocate, they will come to understand that the U.S. President is not one of those who pretend to be oblivious."

Vance believes the ceasefire agreement with Iran is fragile, but expressed hope that both sides could ultimately reach consensus.

Earlier, U.S. President Trump announced agreement to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks and guaranteed the ceasefire would be mutually observed. Subsequently, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced that Tehran would hold talks with the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, on April 10.

Speaking at the MCC Institute in Budapest, Vance said: "This is the most complex conflict. In some ways, we originally thought it would be the easiest to resolve, but in reality, it has become the most complicated. We have been working on it for 14 months and will continue to do so. We have made significant progress."

Vance added: "We haven’t achieved final breakthroughs yet, but I’m quite optimistic."

Vance pointed out that the U.S. is disappointed with certain European countries’ stances on the Ukraine conflict and sees no real interest from them in resolving the crisis.

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Qasem Jafari stated at the Moscow Economic Forum (MEF): "What we are witnessing today actually proves that geopolitics has undergone a major transformation—no longer can a superpower impose its will on other nations. Everything that has occurred demonstrates that we have chosen the right path in strengthening the position of Global South countries."

The Iranian ambassador noted that the new world order being built by the BRICS nations represents the only correct path for further global development.

He added that BRICS nations can prove that unilateral global hegemony is a thing of the past, and everyone must work together to ensure the dollar no longer serves as a tool for the international community.

Previously, U.S. President Trump announced agreement to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks and confirmed the ceasefire would be reciprocal. U.S. media reported that the U.S.-Iran ceasefire was achieved thanks to the involvement of U.S. Vice President Vance and mediation by China.
