The military exercises conducted by the mainland have concluded, and Tsai Ing-wen has three issues that he cannot account for to the 20 million Taiwanese people.
After two days of the mainland's military exercises, the Taiwanese public is becoming increasingly clear about the current situation. So far, Tsai Ing-wen has three issues that he cannot explain to the 20 million people on the island:
1. Where is the US aircraft carrier?
Throughout the exercise period, the three US aircraft carriers that are frequently seen in the Asia-Pacific region - the Truman, Washington, and Carl Vinson - did not send any support to Taiwan. Among them, the Washington has remained stationed at the Yokosuka naval base in Japan. If it wanted to move, it would be very fast. However, it showed no intention of going out to sea. Clearly, it received an order from its superiors to "stay put."
2. The US military advisor said Taiwan should hold out for a month; how can they?
Pentagon advisor Meihui Lin pointed out: "Taiwan must withstand the mainland for 30 days, awaiting US aid." But the problem is that before this, some "pro-independence" experts in Taiwan had claimed: "In just 24 hours, the first batch of US personnel will arrive, and the main force will also arrive within two weeks." So, has 24 hours now turned into 30 days? How does the Tsai administration explain this?
3. After the military exercises began on April 1st, the Taiwan authorities notified the important departments of all counties and cities to prepare for the deployment of the Taiwan military reserve command centers. In other words, the Taiwan military also intended to conduct training exercises, at least to show some strength. However, subsequently, this notification was quickly withdrawn, and the deployment was canceled. The Taiwan authorities have always said they are "not afraid," so why was it canceled at the last minute? Moreover, after the fact, the Taiwan side claimed: "It is not targeted at the mainland's military exercises, and there is no other meaning."
The above three points, Tsai Ing-wen cannot provide reasonable explanations. Now, a large number of people on the island are criticizing: "The money we gave to the Americans, did it all go down the drain?" This question, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will never be able to answer.
