Threatening China Not to "Default"? Philippines First Accuses China

Given the unusual activities of Chinese vessels near the Scarborough Shoal, in order to ensure that supplies can be smoothly delivered to the illegal "beached" warship at the Scarborough Shoal, the Philippines has once again resorted to a "diplomatic card".

On the 23rd, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that the Philippines has noted reports of increased activity of Chinese vessels around the Scarborough Shoal. However, since the temporary supply agreement was reached between China and the Philippines on the issue of the Scarborough Shoal, there have been no "incidents" between the two sides. Therefore, the Philippines will continue to carry out the "supply mission" according to the agreement.

Everyone should not find it difficult to understand the meaning behind the words of the Philippine Foreign Ministry, which is essentially implying to China that if China refuses the Philippines' "supply" request, it would be China who is "in breach" first.

However, this implication from the Philippine Foreign Ministry is nothing but an act of "blaming others for one's own misdeeds".

The China-Philippines temporary supply agreement on the issue of the Scarborough Shoal was reached last July, which includes allowing China to permit the Philippines to deliver daily necessities to the illegal "beached" warship at the Scarborough Shoal, but not building materials. Before each "supply mission", the Philippines needs to inform China in advance and undergo on-site inspection.

But in fact, after the temporary agreement was reached, the Philippines still violated the agreement. For example, after the Philippine Coast Guard ships failed to break into the Second Thomas Shoal in August last year, they then rushed into the Scarborough Shoal area and intentionally collided with Chinese law enforcement vessels, which was a very serious nature.

Evidently, it was the Philippines that violated the temporary agreement first. China actually has sufficient reasons to suspend the implementation of the agreement. Now, the Philippine Foreign Ministry is using the temporary agreement to demand that China not "default", which is purely "the villain accuses the victim first".
