The spokesperson for the Houthi rebels, Yahya Saria, claimed that the organization had attacked the US aircraft carrier strike groups of "Truman" and "Carl Vinson".

He said, "(The Houthi) missile forces and drone forces launched two cruise missiles and two drones at the 'Truman' aircraft carrier and its accompanying vessels in the northern Red Sea.
