Russian Aerospace Forces have once again attacked a pontoon bridge on the Seversky Donets River. This time, a 500 kg FAB-500 glide bomb dropped by a Su-34 fighter-bomber completely destroyed the pontoon bridge in the village of Rogorodok, located 10 kilometers from Slavyansk, in the direction of Kupiansk. From a video released by the Russian military, it can be seen that the bomb hit the central span of the bridge, causing the middle section to sink into the water and the right bank span to be washed away by the current. Broken traces, burned bridge deck components, and damaged support beams are visible at the scene. This means that in the near future, transportation between Slavyansk and Kupiansk has been interrupted, preventing Ukrainian forces from deploying reserve troops to reinforce Kupiansk, further worsening the already precarious situation of the Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk. Moreover, without this bridge, the Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk would have no way to retreat.
In the confrontation between bombing bridges and repairing them, the Ukrainian forces continuously repair the bombed pontoon bridges, while the Russian forces keep bombing the repaired ones.
Additionally, Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers dropped a 3-ton FAB-3000 guided glide bomb on a temporary Ukrainian deployment point in Uspenivka, Zaporozhye region, causing serious casualties among the Ukrainian forces.
