Some Ukrainian officials made strong remarks regarding the Russian missile attack on Sumy city, which caused significant civilian casualties.
The mayor of Konotop City in the Sumy region demanded that the Sumy regional governor publicly apologize and resign before 6 PM, and called for the dismissal of the heads of the local security bureau and military administration. Otherwise, he would expose the truth about the missile attack.
Meanwhile, former Verkhovna Rada MP Myroshnychenko harshly criticized Sumy Governor Artukh and Military Administration Head Ananchenko on social media, calling them scum. He claimed that these two officials gathered civilians, soldiers, and many children together to prepare for celebrating the 7th anniversary of the establishment of the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade and planned a publicity campaign during an awards ceremony, which attracted the Russian missile strike. Myroshnychenko demanded that the Ukrainian authorities immediately arrest the aforementioned two individuals.
At the same time, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada MP Mariana Bezuhraya urged Army Commander Sirenko to stop holding such award ceremonies, especially not in civilian areas.
