The giant building rises from the ground in the disputed waters between China and South Korea, larger than a soccer field.

Recently, "Newsweek" of the United States discovered a satellite image showing that China has built a "giant building" larger than a soccer field in the "provisional measures waters" (i.e., disputed waters where official boundaries have not been determined) of the Yellow Sea. It is believed to be a large self-elevating drilling platform, located not far from Suyan Rock.

It is reported that this platform is the latest equipment, approximately 100 meters long, 90 meters wide, about 50 meters above sea level, equipped with a helicopter landing platform and a large living quarters. Moreover, it can move at sea with the help of tugboats. The South Korean side accused China of violating the agreement between the two countries that "only allows fishing activities", while the Chinese Embassy in South Korea refuted this. It is worth noting that before this, South Koreans had already privately conducted seabed energy exploration in the relevant waters. Therefore, clearly, "South Koreans did the first, and we followed suit".

South Korean media said that there are two main concerns for the South Korean side:

First, this drilling platform can collect hydrographic data near Suyan Rock, posing a threat to underwater combat equipment such as submarines;

Second, the US and South Korea frequently conduct joint military exercises in this area. China could tow the platform to block the way of the US and South Korean navies in an emergency, affecting the two militaries' operations.

However, if they worry about such matters, why not stop the provocations by force in the Asia-Pacific region? Why accuse China's "civilian equipment" of threatening the "military forces" of the US and South Korea? Who is actually threatening whom?
