"50 km Interference-Free": Russia's New Drone Shock the West
Business Insider (BI) report: The Russian military has begun using fiber-optic drones with a range of up to 50 kilometers
According to Business Insider (BI), the Russian armed forces have started deploying long-range drones controlled via fiber-optic cables. According to the media, the effective operational distance of such drones can reach up to 50 kilometers.
The report pointed out that the claimed operational range of this drone significantly exceeds the performance limits of most known fiber-optic drones on the battlefield.
Mikhail Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, told Business Insider (BI) in an interview that such drones pose a serious threat to the Ukrainian military because they are not affected by electronic warfare equipment and may bring additional risks to the logistics supply and personnel safety of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The article's author also emphasized that the emergence of such Russian drones indicates that the current conflict is driving the development of new defense solutions, especially in the field of drone technology.
Previously, military journalist Chingiz Dambayev reported that a new heavy Russian drone named "Mangas" (Мангас) has been put into use in the special military operation area. He said that this six-rotor drone has successfully completed over 230 combat flight missions.
