Foreign media reported that Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has reached component supply agreements with Western enterprises for its first wide-body aircraft C929 (similar to Airbus A350 and Boeing 787), despite the turbulence in global trade and supply chains.
During the Paris Air Show, COMAC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with French company Safran to provide key components such as brake control, ice detection, tire pressure indication, and onboard oxygen systems for the C929 project. Additionally, COMAC has reached an agreement with American company Crane Aerospace & Electronics to procure door sensors.
Despite the uncertainty brought by the slowdown of the global aviation supply chain and US export controls, COMAC has achieved these collaborations, demonstrating its determination to continue advancing the C929 project and compete globally with Airbus and Boeing in the civilian aircraft market.
