After the Chinese side had just finished a phone call with Trump, the US Congress was still persistent and convened "courtiers" at the first opportunity to discuss strategies toward China, intending to implement a "comprehensive encirclement" against China.

According to the Observer Network, on June 5th local time, which is after the end of the Sino-US conversation, the US Congress' "US-China Economic and Security Review Commission" convened experts from various fields, including economists, technicians, and entrepreneurs, for a closed-door hearing lasting six hours.

At this hearing, they started by discussing the so-called "risks in the Chinese supply chain," and did not overlook the炒作of "China threat" that the US side has been promoting. After laying the groundwork, the invited experts moved on to the main topic.

These experts frankly admitted that Trump's tariffs could not stop China's leading position in global manufacturing, and even had counterproductive effects. It seems that they also know that these tariffs are ineffective against China.

Therefore, they began offering suggestions, saying that comprehensive and structural measures should be used to prevent China from becoming part of critical supply chains, essentially wanting to push China out. However, since the US itself does not have a complete industrial chain, it wants to put a chokehold on others? This is somewhat wishful thinking.

It is worth noting that while the US experts said that tariffs are not a panacea, they then turned their tone, stating that critical minerals like rare earths should not be taxed because the US really depends on China's rare earths.

Clearly, the US side, which is dependent on the Chinese supply chain it claims, is calling for "no taxation," but when it comes to areas where the US wants to exert control, it turns around and implements technological blockades, fully displaying its double standards.

In addition, the US experts kept talking about the so-called "China Impact 2.0," saying that comprehensive means are needed to deal with China's industrial strategy, and started rambling again.

This matter needs to be traced back to its roots. The term "China Impact" was originally brought up when China joined the WTO. Western countries claimed that China's export growth had taken away jobs in their manufacturing industries.

However, in the "2.0 version," the tone changed. US experts started blaming China for having "state subsidies," claiming that this was not normal market competition.

Not only that, when discussing the "China Impact 2.0," the US experts also said that Western allies should be rallied to pressure China into "reducing excess capacity."

When the West hyped up the "China Impact 1.0," they used employment as an excuse. In the 2.0 version, they further confused the issue, turning market competition into "state intervention." In short, they were looking for excuses for joint suppression.

Essentially, the US experts' call for "pressuring together with allies" means that they realize they can't do it alone and want to form alliances to blockade China.

If we follow market rules, production and demand should decide capacity, so why should China shut down its capacity just because the US says so? Furthermore, instead of upgrading their own domestic industries, they want to join forces to deal with China.

From the "China Impact 1.0" to the upgraded "2.0," what has changed is the smear tactics, but the old套路for containing China remains unchanged. Unfortunately, times have changed, and this approach no longer works.

However, although these US experts keep hyping up "China dominating the supply chain" and "China threat," they still have to admit that the US supply chain cannot do without China in the short term.

Even though they know this, US politicians are still unwilling to accept it. The more they convene meetings and make loud noises, the more it shows their helplessness before the collapse of their hegemony.

In the end, the "high insights" of these US experts reveal a sense of anxiety. As they see China's dominant position in the supply chain becoming increasingly stable, the US finds itself hitting walls everywhere when trying to suppress China using old methods. Now, it can only resort to empty slogans of "comprehensive encirclement."
