Trump Claims Iran Has Experienced "Regime Change," Iranian Vice President Shoots Down Statement
According to a report by CNN on March 30, Trump stated on March 29 aboard Air Force One that Iran had agreed to "most of the terms" of the ceasefire "15-point plan" conveyed by the U.S. through Pakistan. He insisted that due to the deaths of several senior officials in the Iranian leadership during U.S.-Israel airstrikes, Iran has undergone a "regime change," and that the "new Iranian government" involved in negotiations is very "reasonable."
However, Trump's remarks have been swiftly refuted by Iran. Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Araghchi stated that efforts by Iran's adversaries to push for regime change in Iran would only lead to a transformation in the management system of the Strait of Hormuz. He posted online that the governance model of the Strait of Hormuz will differ from the past, and that the Iranian government's goal is to "transform military achievements into sustainable economic and security benefits for the nation."
