North Korea's Foreign Ministry: Denuclearization Issue Permanently Closed, Nuclear State Status Irreversible
The North Korean Foreign Ministry issued a statement emphasizing that the issue of denuclearization has been thoroughly and permanently closed. Despite pressure from the United States and its allies, Pyongyang will continue to maintain its status as a nuclear state. The DPRK stated that anti-North Korean rhetoric from the U.S., Japan, and South Korea is meaningless, and related threats cannot shake its irreversible position as a nuclear-armed nation.
A spokesperson for the North Korean Foreign Ministry said, "Empty anti-North statements and joint threats from the United States and its vassal states have no effect on our established and irreversible status as a nuclear state. The denuclearization issue has been conclusively ended."
The DPRK pointed out that the nuclear deterrent shield is a legitimate means of defense against external threats. With the U.S. continuously supplying new weapons to South Korea and Japan and conducting mock nuclear strike joint military exercises, North Korea will take firm measures to strengthen its own security capabilities.
The DPRK added: "Building a nuclear shield is an inevitable choice to deter external interference and threats, safeguard national sovereignty and security, and maintain regional peace and stability."
Previously, Trump expressed willingness to resume communication with North Korea’s leadership and gave a positive evaluation of their past meetings. However, Pyongyang has clearly signaled that dialogue remains possible only if demands for denuclearization are abandoned.
