The Alpha rocket of Firefly Aerospace in the United States has failed again!

So far, only two out of the six missions of Alpha have been fully successful.

The sixth launch of Firefly Aerospace's Alpha rocket on April 29 ended in failure.

The two-stage Alpha rocket was launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The rocket, which is 29.6 meters tall, carried an aerospace technology demonstration project by Lockheed Martin, targeting low Earth orbit (LEO).

However, an anomaly occurred shortly after the second stage separation, resulting in the loss of the upper stage device.

This was clearly due to a reduction in engine thrust, leading to mission failure.

The upper stage and payload have now crashed in the Pacific cleanup area north of Antarctica.

This is the first of up to 25 missions that the company will conduct for Lockheed Martin over the next five years. The purpose of this flight was to deliver a satellite technology demonstrator into LEO.

Alpha made its debut in September 2021 and can carry up to 1,030 kilograms of payload into LEO. So far, only two out of its six missions have been fully successful.
