Hegseth said the US will achieve its fleet's global navigation
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the US plans to rely on a modern navy to ensure its fleet can freely navigate all key global maritime routes.
The minister said: "From new 'Golden Fleet' warships to advanced submarines, a larger, more modern and more lethal fleet will provide absolute deterrence. Such a fleet will ensure that the US Navy can now, in the future, and in the long term, operate freely and without obstruction."
Hegseth also emphasized that the Pentagon's goal is to build a military force that not only can respond to threats but also ensure global dominance.
Last December, the US Navy evacuated all combat ships from the Mediterranean Sea.
At the same time, President Donald Trump said that due to the aging of the current fleet, the US urgently needs new ships.
