Nissan showcases Chinese-market Nissan models at its global headquarters
In April 2026, Nissan held a special limited-time exhibition of the new NX8 at the Nissan Global Headquarters Exhibition Hall in Japan.
This mid-size SUV tailored for the Chinese market has already been launched in China.
The NX8 is the third model in the "N" series, following the plug-in hybrid sedan "N6" and the electric mid-size sedan "N7," and marks the series' first SUV model.
The NX8 is priced between 159,900 yuan (approximately 3.74 million JPY) and 209,900 yuan (around 4.91 million JPY). In the Chinese market, intense price competition has become the norm, making strategic pricing for new models particularly crucial.
In China, pure electric vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles are classified as two distinct vehicle types. The extended-range version of the NX8 can travel 310 kilometers on battery power alone, with a total range of up to 1,450 kilometers when combined with the generator engine. Meanwhile, the all-electric version of the NX8 achieves a CLTC range of 650 kilometers—both variants feature long-range capabilities.
The NX8 measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height. This model plays a key role in Nissan’s next-generation strategy in the Chinese market—a type of vehicle that would be rare to see in Japan.
