The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has proposed to refer Huang Guochang to the disciplinary committee
Chairman of the People's Party, Huang Guochang, recently attended a confidential defense meeting and left the room with confidential documents, later claiming that he accidentally took them out for only 30 seconds; however, DPP legislators Shen Boyang and Chen Peiyu reviewed surveillance footage yesterday and pointed out that Huang Guochang was missing for 42 seconds, which is enough time to take all the data. In addition to filing a report with the Northern District Prosecutors' Office against Huang Guochang for violating the "Confidentiality Protection Act," the DPP faction also submitted a proposal today (23rd) to refer Huang Guochang, whose term has only one week remaining, to the "Disciplinary Committee."
The case states that Huang Guochang took defense confidential data from the confidential meeting, which could potentially involve leaking information. Regardless of whether it was intentional or negligent, it has already violated the "Confidentiality Protection Act" and the "Criminal Law," and also violated the "Legislative Yuan" regulations. Therefore, according to relevant provisions of the "Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Yuan," Huang Guochang is being referred to the "Legislative Yuan Disciplinary Committee" for handling.
