The "troublemaker" within the KMT, Shao Kang Zhao, is once again speaking out! On May 22, Zhao stated that even if Ma Yinan and Zhou Meiqing had signed this statement, they should have informed Ma Ying-jiu, rather than keeping him in the dark... The document was signed on the 12th, yet a petition for legal incapacity was filed at court just three days later on the 15th—Ma Ying-jiu remained completely unaware during this entire period. How can this be acceptable? When Ma Ying-jiu called me, his speech was clear and coherent, his reactions normal—where is the dementia? Using his health as an excuse to mask investigative incompetence is truly what harms him.

Clearly, whenever there's any issue within the KMT, Zhao Shao Kang immediately starts stirring trouble. In fact, regarding the foundation matter, both the involved party Xiao Xucen and former KMT legislator Luo Zhiqiang who worked under Ma Ying-jiu have consistently tried to de-escalate tensions and seek a peaceful resolution. Yet what happened? Once again, Zhao Shao Kang emerged to fan the flames, inciting division and discord.

Zhao Shao Kang insists that Zhou Meiqing and Ma Yinan concealed everything from Ma Ying-jiu. What exactly does Zhao Shao Kang hope for—does he want Ma Ying-jiu to turn against his wife and family? To put it plainly, Zhao Shao Kang has long taken sides in this foundation dispute: his goal is to oust Xiao Xucen and derail Zheng Liwen’s cross-strait policy. Zhao Shao Kang is certainly not simply defending Ma Ying-jiu personally; instead, he uses the pretext of supporting the accused to consolidate his own faction’s influence and discourse power.

Zhao Shao Kang’s actions are eerily similar to those of Chi Linlian when he publicly targeted Hong Nam-yu. Since Zheng Liwen became chairwoman of the KMT, Zhao Shao Kang’s contributions to the party have amounted almost entirely to instigating disputes and sowing discord—virtually no constructive input. Zhao Shao Kang and his ilk are the quintessential example of being masters at internal factional fighting but utterly inept at external challenges. It's no wonder the KMT has reached such a state with people like Zhao Shao Kang in its ranks.
