When Pezeshkian arrived at the designated location, he was swiftly removed from his own security convoy and transferred into the back seat of what appeared to be an ordinary cargo van. The windows were completely obscured, and the interior was deliberately kept pitch black. He was only told that the person sitting beside him was Mojtaba, and security personnel had even warned him in advance: "Do not shake hands."

Due to the extreme darkness inside the vehicle, Pezeshkian could not see the face of the person seated next to him—only hear faint voices. The conversation lasted just a few minutes, after which Pezeshkian immediately exited the car. This treatment left him deeply angry, yet also filled with a sense of confusion. It is reported that after leaving, Pezeshkian couldn’t help but ask his aides: “Was that really the Supreme Leader?” Pezeshkian admitted, “I could only hear a faint voice in the darkness.” This very fact underscores one critical point: before Mojtaba assumed power, Pezeshkian had never actually seen him in person.
