Kuwait Mass Revokes Citizenship
Agence France-Presse reported on the 25th that more than 37,000 people have been stripped of Kuwaiti nationality from August 2024 to now. Among all the cases reviewed, 26,000 women lost their citizenship acquired through marriage and dependency.

On October 22, 2024, Kuwait issued Decree No. 130 of 2024, revoking the citizenship of nine individuals. Additionally, according to Cabinet Resolution No. 792 of 2024, another eight individuals also lost their citizenship. Kuwait has strengthened its criteria for holding citizenship to combat fraudulent citizenship practices, particularly through the use of false or forged information during the application process.
Amnesty International's Mansour Mills said, "The right to nationality is a fundamental human right, and disrespecting and failing to protect this right can have catastrophic consequences for people's lives."
George Cafiro, managing director of Gulf State Analytics, said that new leaders seem to have different views on nationalism, excluding "those who do not have deep roots in the country."
For Melissa Longworth, a researcher at the Includovate organization, immigrant women "were explicitly told that this country does not welcome your offspring," and they were deprived of voting rights.
