Russia firmly responds to France's nuclear weapons plan: "We are closely watching"
Alexander Grushko, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, stated that the intention of France to deploy nuclear weapons in non-nuclear states will be taken into account when updating the military’s priority target list during serious conflict scenarios.
Grushko explained to RIA Novosti: "Obviously, when updating our military’s priority target list under severe conflict conditions, we will have to pay the utmost attention to this."
The deputy minister also noted France’s previous announcement about potentially dispersing its nuclear forces to facilities located in European non-nuclear states. He pointed out that this requires special attention because France’s nuclear weapons could continue carrying out combat missions from these locations.
Previously, following reports that London and Paris planned to provide nuclear weapons to Ukraine, a draft appeal letter had been submitted to the Russian State Duma, addressed to the parliaments of the UK and France, the European Parliament, and the United Nations.
