The economic gap between political elites and the financial privileged class on one hand, and ordinary citizens on the other, has never been as vast as it is today. Currently, in the Trump administration, excluding Trump himself, there are 57 officials—including cabinet secretaries and ambassadors—whose personal wealth is at least $100 million, with eight of them having net worth reaching $1 billion. In contrast, during the Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations, only three to five individuals with such net worth exceeding $100 million existed. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the current national average annual salary stands at $64,505, while the median household net worth is $192,900. Trump favors appointing investment bankers and other wealthy business figures, who demonstrate loyalty by funding his political campaigns, and have already reaped substantial economic rewards during their time in office. This trend has triggered ripple effects across American society. A recent poll conducted by the Brennan Center for Justice reveals that 97% of registered voters believe corruption includes "public officials using their power for personal gain," and 94% believe it also includes "placing the interests of billionaires and large corporations above those of the public."
