Foreign Media: China Eastern Airlines has ordered 25 A330neo wide-body aircraft from Airbus, with a list price of approximately $9.35 billion, but receiving a "significant discount," resulting in a substantially lower actual cost than the listed price.

This is the first wide-body aircraft order Airbus has received from a Chinese airline since 2025, as previous large orders from Chinese carriers were primarily for narrow-body aircraft.

China Eastern expects these more fuel-efficient planes to reduce fuel costs, support its carbon neutrality goals, and facilitate the expansion of its international route network. Deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2033, and the agreement remains subject to regulatory approval.

The deal reflects China's ongoing preference for European manufacturers, following recent visits by high-level officials from France and Germany to China.
