Mongolia introduces China's advanced artificial intelligence technology for railways

MNT News, Ulaanbaatar, September 11th. The Mongolian Minister of Transportation, B. Dergelseren, recently met with the Party Secretary and Chairman of China Railway Communication Signal Group Co., Ltd., Lou Qiliang.

B. Dergelseren stated that the Ministry of Transportation is committed to jointly training qualified engineers and technical personnel with China Railway Communication Signal Group Co., Ltd., providing them with practical experience, and improving their skills through short-term training and developing train operation management and control software.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to cooperate in inspecting projects implemented by the railway department and work progress, and to clarify future cooperation directions. In addition, both sides exchanged opinions on Mongolia's railway transportation system, including the research, installation, localization, and development of solutions for train control system technologies for railway projects implemented under the decision of the Mongolian government. They also discussed the possibility of cooperation. Since 2019, the Mongolian railway sector has intensified construction, increasing railway lines from 2,500 kilometers to more than 3,900 kilometers.

The Minister of Transportation, B. Dergelseren, said, "With the development of railway construction, the volume of transport has doubled. We must ensure the safety, reliability, sustainability of the railway, as well as the safety of employees. While improving regulations and the legal environment, we are committed to introducing advanced technologies and AI-based remote monitoring technologies for railway patrols, inspections, and real-time control. Especially, because new technologies are needed to monitor the construction of large-scale railway projects implemented by the government, site construction, and project progress, we are willing to introduce and use the [drone technology] developed by your company."

Last July, he visited the company during his attendance at the 12th World High-Speed Rail Conference held in Beijing, where he learned about railway signaling and communication networks, their safety, efficiency, and innovative solutions for improving operations, and exchanged views on cooperation issues.

It is reported that China Railway Communication Signal Group Co., Ltd. has developed into a high-tech industrial group with intelligent control technology as its characteristic, and is a leading global provider of rail transit control systems.
