This move marks an important milestone in XPeng's global strategy, allowing it to bypass the punitive tariffs imposed by Europe on Chinese-made pure electric vehicles, thereby enhancing its competitiveness in this important automotive market in Europe.
Currently, cars exported by XPeng from China to the EU are subject to a 30.7% tariff. In the future, XPeng plans to gradually increase the level of localization in Austria.
