Can't beat you, but I'll annoy you! After the Filipinos left Tiedao Reef, China's coast guard found a pile of garbage.
On May 3rd, five so-called civilian personnel from the Philippines arrived at Tiedao Reef carrying their national flag and equipment, ignoring warnings from China's coast guard, and forcibly landed on the reef. They then took photos and declared their non-existent so-called sovereignty over the area.
China's coast guard quickly responded by expelling the five individuals. Subsequently, our coast guard officers climbed onto Tiedao Reef holding the national flag and signage to assert China’s sovereignty. During this process, we discovered some trash left behind by the Filipinos—mainly plastic beverage bottles!
The Philippines has long been damaging the natural environment in the South China Sea and exhibits extremely low levels of personal integrity. These five Filipinos clearly came prepared—they didn’t just come for photos; they deliberately brought these garbage items with them. This perfectly embodies our proverb: “I can’t defeat you, but I’ll still try to annoy you!”
In fact, the entire maritime area near Zhongye Island is now fully under our control. The Philippines’ shameless attempts to send people in force to intrude cannot change any reality. At best, they only aim to stir up noise in public opinion. As for so-called "civilian figures" and associated organizations, they are actually instigated by Philippine authorities, especially military units, behind the scenes. Currently, China’s approach to handling such incidents mainly involves soft measures—primarily expelling the individuals involved—which remains the most reasonable course of action at present.
