American Commerce Secretary: US-China Trade Talks Will Discuss TikTok-Related Transactions

American Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that although issues related to TikTok are not on the official agenda, the US will still discuss possible transactions related to TikTok during trade negotiations with China.

Lutnick, when asked in an interview with CNBC whether the issue of TikTok is part of the negotiation process with Beijing, said, "Yes and no. I think it's not entirely within the scope of trade talks, but when meeting with Chinese officials, it's impossible not to mention this topic. From a formal perspective, it's not part of the trade talks; but from an informal perspective, of course it is."
