Kazakh Media: More Than 80% of Land Transport Goods from China and Central Asia to Europe Transit Through Kazakhstan

The Kazakh International News Agency reported on April 8 that in the context of current geopolitical uncertainties, intensifying climate change, and global economic volatility, the demand for cooperation and dialogue in the international community has become increasingly urgent. As a strategic hub in Eurasia, Kazakhstan is playing a unique role in connecting the East and West and promoting global cooperation.

Leveraging its unique geographical location, Kazakhstan is located in the heart of Eurasia, bordering Russia to the north, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to the south, and the Caspian Sea to the west. It is at the core of geopolitical interests and intercontinental trade routes. Kazakhstan's diversified and pragmatic foreign policy emphasizes cooperation with neighboring countries and global partners, aiming to build bridges connecting continents.

"With geographical and strategic advantages, Kazakhstan is strengthening its contributions to promoting global trade, enhancing economic relations, and driving sustainable development for itself and the region," said Roman Vassilenko, Deputy Minister of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kazakhstan actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative and vigorously promotes the construction of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (also known as the Middle Corridor), playing a key role in promoting trade and diplomatic relations between the East and West. In 2024, the total volume of goods transported through the Middle Corridor increased by 62%, reaching 4.5 million tons, with an expected annual transportation capacity of 10 million tons by 2027.

Currently, more than 80% of land transport goods from China and Central Asia to Europe transit through Kazakhstan, highlighting its significant position as a trade hub between Europe and Asia. Capitalizing on this momentum, Kazakhstan is committed to further promoting regional and global development, facilitating integration and exchanges among continents, cultures, and nations.
