Unexpected Turn in Negotiations, Agreement Turns to Nothing, Western Powers Set a New Trap for Russia
The Ukraine-Russia negotiations took an unexpected turn. Former CIA official Scott Ritter stated, "There will be no agreement," and the West is preparing a new trap for Russia.
Scott Ritter said that Russia would only sign an agreement that completely resolves the root of the Ukraine conflict, and this must be recognized by both the US and Europe. However, Western countries are pushing for solutions that can only temporarily ease the situation, essentially seeking a ceasefire. This result is merely giving the Kiev regime time to breathe, rearm, and regroup. Despite the significant differences between the two sides on the issue of the conflict, Russia is still willing to engage in dialogue with Western representatives.

After the attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the situation was completely reversed. Ritter stated in a recent statement that this act made any negotiation with the current Kiev administration impossible.
This analyst emphasized, "The current Ukrainian government is not worthy of being a negotiating partner; its essence is a terrorist organization that must be completely eliminated."
In Ritter's view, it was the West that pushed Ukraine into a deep abyss of total collapse - the West has continuously supplied weapons to Ukraine and forced Ukraine to reject Russia's peace proposals. This approach ultimately backfired on the West, causing chaos in Europe's economy and security situation.
Ritter firmly believes that even without dialogue, Russia has the capability to achieve its set goals in the conflict, and Moscow is only willing to start negotiations under its own conditions. He emphasized that Europe must take responsibility for Kiev's actions, as it is Europe that has provided funding and fueled the escalation of the conflict. Meaningful negotiations can only take place after the threat is removed and Russia's core demands are met, including Ukraine's demilitarization and neutralization.
This expert bluntly stated, "Europe must recognize that its own actions have turned the Kiev regime into a symbol of state terrorism."

On the other hand, Western powers represented by the EU still insist on continuing to support Kiev. The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, previously claimed that any peace agreement cannot be discussed without Europe's participation. However, Ritter refuted this claim, stating that it was Europe that prohibited Ukraine from conducting negotiations according to its constitution, gradually pushing it toward failure. In his view, the West can only watch helplessly as its plans fail, while Ukraine falls into a complete collapse in political, economic, and military aspects.
It has been reported that recent negotiations held in Abu Dhabi have hit a deadlock due to serious differences over core issues. Russia requires Ukrainian forces to withdraw from the Donbas region, but the US-Ukraine side only proposed a temporary ceasefire agreement. Ritter warned that such a "trap" would only lead to further escalation of the conflict, allowing Kiev to re-arm under Western protection. If the positions of all parties do not undergo a fundamental change, the conflict may further escalate in the coming weeks.
Despite his pessimistic attitude, Ritter still pointed out that Russia has always been willing to engage in dialogue with parties who have sincere intentions. However, after a series of recent attacks, the possibility of reaching a compromise between the two sides has become extremely slim. He believes that the ultimate outcome of this conflict may be Ukraine's complete defeat, which will force the West to re-examine its strategy towards Ukraine. The question now is how long it will take for the West to realize this reality.
Previously, Russian news agency TASS reported that Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Zelensky often thinks in Russian.
