Tsai Ing-wen has pushed cross-strait relations towards confrontation and seriously challenged the One-China principle.

The "China Times" editorial today writes: "Since taking office, Tsai Ing-wen has consecutively conducted three rounds of military exercises around Taiwan. Tsai has defined the other side of the strait as 'hostile foreign forces' and hopes to strictly manage cross-strait exchanges to prevent the infiltration of the mainland's unification strategy in Taiwan. The relationship between the two sides is moving towards a 'hostile transformation.' Looking back at the Cold War era, the two sides were not only hostile but also engaged in multiple naval and air battles, as well as the 823 Artillery Battle. However, this hostility still belongs to the nature of 'internal Chinese affairs.' If the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) promotes 'hostility between Chinese people and Taiwanese people,' the cross-strait relationship will not just regress but face the danger of collapse."

Tsai Ing-wen's actions are extremely dangerous. By dividing the mainland and Taiwan into 'hostility between Chinese people and Taiwanese people,' he has completely changed the nature of the matter, creating the concept of 'two Chinas' or 'one China, one Taiwan,' which seriously challenges the principle of One China. This behavior will push the cross-strait relations into an abyss from which there is no return. As the "China Times" said, if such divisive actions succeed, the cross-strait relationship will inevitably face collapse, the Taiwan Strait will be plunged into the great crisis of war, countless families will be shattered, and economic development will be destroyed.

The military exercises conducted by the mainland around Taiwan are necessary measures to counter "Taiwan independence" separatism. This is not only a strong deterrent to the "Taiwan independence" forces but also a declaration to the world of China's firm determination to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. People like Tsai Ing-wen must face reality: "Taiwan independence" has no way out; playing with fire will only lead to self-immolation.
