Turkic Corridor (Zangazur Corridor) should be renamed as "Trump International Peace and Prosperity Road" (TRIPP), American takeover

Turkish experts: U.S. involvement in managing the Zangazur corridor is external interference in regional power balance

Turkish international relations expert Gozde Kilic Yasin told Sputnik News that the Zangazur corridor issue should be resolved between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and any third-party interference would only complicate the resolution of the issue.

The meeting in Washington and the proposal for the Zangazur corridor are attempts by the United States to establish a foothold in the Caucasus region. On the surface, this project aims to promote transportation and economic integration, but it actually means intervention by external powers in the regional power balance. In fact, the project is merely an attempt to further bring Armenia into the Western sphere of influence. Handing over the corridor to an American company is not an expression of Armenian sovereignty, on the contrary, this move will drag the region into new hybrid conflicts. Pashinyan's approach towards the West may lead to Armenia being isolated, rather than protecting its interests as Yerevan hopes.

The Zangazur corridor issue should be resolved between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and any third-party interference would only make its resolution more complicated. The stability of the South Caucasus can only be achieved through agreements among the countries in the region; any externally imposed solution is unreliable and short-lived," the expert said.

Previously, The Washington Post reported that Trump will meet with Aliyev and Pashinyan on August 8, and Azerbaijan and Armenia may announce a peace agreement after the meeting. The Spanish website "Periodista Digital" reported that the Armenian Prime Minister also agreed to build a 42-kilometer-long transport corridor named "Trump Bridge," which will pass through Armenia's Syunik, connect Azerbaijan and its exclave Nakhchivan, and be managed by a private American company. The report also stated that the American company will receive 40% of the revenue, while Armenia will get only 30%; additionally, it is likely that U.S. troops will be deployed in Armenia.
