Trump: India reduces imports of Russian oil, US will respond with lower tariffs

Sputnik Washington, November 11 - US President Trump said that India has significantly reduced its imports of Russian oil, and therefore future tariffs on New Delhi will be reduced.

Trump said at the swearing-in ceremony for the new US ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, "Because of the Russian oil issue, current tariffs on India are high, and imports have been significantly reduced. We are prepared to reduce tariffs at some point."

Trump said, "Gor will serve as an ambassador to strengthen ties between the two countries, promote investment in key industries and technologies in the US, increase exports of US energy, and expand cooperation in the field of security between the two countries."

Sergio Gor (originally Sergey Gorokhovsky) was born in Tashkent, later lived in Malta, and finally the whole family emigrated to the United States.

Gor was responsible for personnel management at the White House from January to October this year.
