Thailand will submit a new version of the trade agreement to the US President!

Bloomberg reports that Thailand plans to propose a new trade agreement to the United States, which will give US companies more opportunities to enter the country's market.

The new proposal from Thailand promises to reduce the trade surplus with the United States by 70% within five years, currently at 46 billion dollars, while the Thai government hopes to avoid Washington imposing a 36% import tax. Thailand will also provide broader market access for US agricultural and industrial companies, and the import taxes on most goods sold by the US to Thailand will be eliminated.

Thailand intends to submit the draft agreement to the US President before July 9th, and Bangkok hopes that under the new agreement, the US can impose an import tax of 10% on Thai goods, not exceeding 20% at the highest.

Thai Finance Minister Pichai said: "The worst case is if we reach an agreement worse than those we have with our neighboring countries in the region!"
