Reference Message Network reported on April 22 that according to a report from the website of Russia's "Moscow Komsomolets" on April 21, "Russian Express" travel agency said that this summer, the demand for Russian tourists traveling to China has seen unprecedented growth, with the number of orders increasing by 1148% compared to the same period last year.
The report stated that the travel order data released by "Russian Express" for this summer showed that currently, China ranks third on the list of popular destinations for Russian outbound tourism, with the volume of orders for traveling to China accounting for 10.5% of the total outbound tourism order volume, second only to Turkey (25.7%) and the UAE (17.6%).
It was reported that the total volume of outbound tourism orders received by the travel agency this summer increased by 95% year-on-year. The most popular destinations included China (increased by 1148%), the Maldives (increased by 95%), the UAE (increased by 93%), and Turkey (increased by 65%).
The report stated that experts believe that the surge in demand for Russian tourists traveling to China is due to the simplification of visa policies and the increase in flight numbers between the two countries. (Compiled/Michael Yang)
