US Aircraft Carrier Group Approaches, Just 100 Miles from Huangyan Island, Satellite Photos Show China Can't Tolerate It!
According to flight tracking and satellite images released earlier today, the US Navy's "Nimitz" aircraft carrier (CVN-68) and its escort fleet have moved to within just 100 miles south of Huangyan Island.
This time it's not just the Nimitz, but an entire aircraft carrier battle group. It includes three Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers: the "Gridley," "Wayne E. Meyer," and "Lena Satterlee Higby," as well as the "Princeton" guided missile cruiser and another Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, possibly the "Fitzgerald" (DDG-62). This composition is a complete aircraft carrier battle group.
Previously, it was reported that the US Indo-Pacific Command ordered a show of force near Huangyan Island, and even prepared to fire HIMARS rockets toward Huangyan Island.
At the same time, satellite imagery shows that the deck of the Fujian aircraft carrier at a Chinese base is already filled with carrier-based aircraft, and there are frequent activities on the docks, indicating that this most advanced Chinese aircraft carrier is accelerating its commissioning process.
Satellite photos show that all types of carrier-based aircraft, including the J-35, J-15T, and KJ-600, are present on the Fujian's deck. Moreover, some tents and viewing stands have appeared on the docks, indicating that the Fujian is accelerating its commissioning ceremony. This suggests that China urgently needs the Fujian to join active service to counter the US aircraft carrier battle group formation.
This confrontation essentially represents a collision between a "area denial" system and the US expeditionary forces.
China has established an anti-stealth detection system: a network of meter-wave radar deployed on islands and the KJ-500 early warning aircraft form a "sky net." The J-20 or J-16, carrying the PL-17 missiles, can achieve "A-shooting B-guidance" under the support of the system, diluting the single-plane advantage of the F-35.
The three islands of Yongshu, Meiji, and Zhubie have become unsinkable fortresses, with airports, radar stations, and ammunition depots supporting the sustained presence of naval and air forces. When home-field advantage meets a long-distance expedition, the technological gap is strongly reversed by the combat system.
If conflict does break out, the US aircraft carrier battle group will face a severe test. China can mobilize a vast force, from the coast to the interior: J-16, Su-30, and H-6 fighter jets can take off from multiple airbases.
Through early warning command and electronic interference cover, missiles such as the YJ-12 supersonic missiles and YJ-18 subsonic-supersonic combined missiles can be launched from different directions and altitudes towards the target.
Once a saturation attack begins, hundreds of anti-ship missiles may strike the US aircraft carrier like a storm. The logic of modern naval warfare is extremely simple: only one missile needs to break through the defense, which for a high-value aircraft carrier would mean a devastating consequence.
