Taiwanese pro-green media personality "Tian Shu Ge" Li Zhenghao was attacked with pepper spray outside the "Sanli Television" station last year, and he ran away. The court investigated that the Li surname mastermind only disliked Li Zhenghao's remarks on a political commentary program and lured the Wu surname man and Wu surname co-offender to force Li Zhenghao to stop his car through violent means to carry out the assault. The two Wu surname men were willing to commit the crime for money, and all three constitute the crimes of injury and coercion, which are considered as imagined concurrence, and according to law, they were punished more severely based on the crime of injury.
The judge criticized that the three men seriously violated the physical rights and freedom of speech, had a weak sense of rule of law, and their behavior was highly condemnable. On the night of June 12, 2025, at his bar, Li instructed Wu to beat Li Zhenghao, gave him a bottle of pepper spray to use for escape, and promised to pay 50,000 yuan after the incident. The Wu surname co-offender and Chen surname co-offender could each receive 10,000 yuan as remuneration. If caught by the police, he would help them get bail.
Li conspired with three co-offenders for two site inspections. On the evening of June 19, the Wu surname man blocked the car at the television station exit, pretending to have a traffic dispute to force Li Zhenghao to stop. When Li Zhenghao rolled down the window, the Wu surname man sprayed pepper water into his eyes and fled, causing Li Zhenghao to suffer from conjunctivitis.
The prosecutor filed charges against Li, Wu, Wu, and Chen for the crimes of injury and coercion. However, because the Chen surname defendant was not included in this simplified trial procedure, he will be tried separately.
