A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said that six people, including the shooter, have died.
Three senior law enforcement officials said that one of the victims was an NYPD officer, and the officer's family has been notified.
Four civilians also died. The shooter is dead, with reports indicating he committed suicide by shooting himself.
