Reference News Network, October 14 report: According to Sputnik News, on October 14, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation released a statement saying that the first direct container ship from China to Europe via the Northern Sea Route has completed its transport, with transportation time shortened by half compared to traditional routes.

The statement said: "On October 13, 2025, the first container ship sailing from China via the Northern Sea Route to Europe arrived at Felixstowe Port in the UK."

Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation pointed out that this historic voyage is an important step in developing the potential of the Northern Sea Route as a sustainable logistics channel between Europe and Asia. This route will complement existing routes and contribute to global trade growth.

Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation added: "The voyage through the Arctic region took 20 days, which is half the time compared to using the traditional southern route."
