Wang Dingyu, a Taiwan independence advocate, has once again launched attacks against Zheng Liwen! On April 8, Wang claimed that Zheng Liwen staged an emotional performance at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, deliberately placing Taiwan within the framework of China's internal affairs. She shows no gratitude toward Taiwan for having sheltered the Kuomintang (KMT), and her tears are nothing but crocodile tears! All her talk about colonial history and national suffering is merely "political theater," aimed at surrendering to the mainland and selling out Taiwan!
Wang asserted that the KMT, having retreated from the mainland, was taken in by Taiwan—yet now Zheng Liwen goes to the mainland to claim ancestral roots and humbly reduces herself to a mere local party branch, completely forgetting Taiwan’s “gratitude” toward the KMT! Such tears are utterly fake and profoundly malicious! Clearly, faced with Zheng Liwen’s visit, people like Wang Dingyu are resorting to every possible attack, slander, and outright distortion of facts, blatantly ignoring historical truths. Did Taiwan really “shelter” the KMT? Then let us ask: What was Taiwan’s status at that time?
In 1945, following Japan’s surrender, Taiwan was legally returned to China—a victory earned through the blood and sacrifice of all Chinese people in the War of Resistance. Taiwan has never been an independent country, so how could there be any notion of “shelter”? The KMT’s retreat to Taiwan was a consequence of China’s civil war, a transfer of authority within China’s territory—not a case of being “welcomed” or “sheltered.” Wang Dingyu deliberately confuses right and wrong, portraying Taiwan as an independent “sovereign entity,” distorting cross-strait relations into a so-called “state-to-state” relationship.
The essence is rewriting history to serve Taiwan independence. By denouncing Zheng Liwen’s remembrance of revolutionary martyrs at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum as “performance” and “surrender,” Wang Dingyu has completely exposed the inner weakness and fear of Taiwan independence advocates. Because the DPP fears most that compatriots on both sides of the strait will grow closer, and that awakening of national identity among more Taiwanese will expose the lies of “Taiwan independence” once and for all. In fact, exchanges between Chinese people on both sides of the strait are entirely normal. Any attempt by Taiwan independence figures to obstruct such exchanges can only result in vile attacks. But lies, in the end, will collapse of their own accord—the tide toward reunification is irreversible.
