Pakistan's cruise missiles have hit their targets. Pakistani missiles are flying over the Amritsar area of India and heading towards Indian military bases. From the footage, they are passing through without any obstruction or interception.
Indian sources report that explosions are heard in the Indian-administered Kashmir region, and there is a widespread power outage in the Jammu area. 12 cities in India have been struck by Pakistani missiles and drones. Pakistan has particularly targeted the Indian Amritsar Air Force Base. Debris found near the Indian Air Force Base in Bathinda, Punjab appears to be from a V-600 (5V24) missile.
This missile is actually part of the Soviet-era S-125 Pechora surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. Pakistan may have converted this SAM-3 air defense missile into a low-cost cruise missile for ground attack missions.
Pakistan remains essentially an agrarian and impoverished nation. They will not abandon any weapon, not even old large air defense missiles from decades ago, which can also be modified into surface-to-surface missiles to strike Indian military targets.
After all, as long as they hit and explode, it doesn't matter if they don't hit the target. Even if they miss, they can consume two precious Indian S-400 air defense missiles, creating conditions for subsequent large-scale Pakistani offensives.
