Hui Sioo-sung was a well-known supporting actor at TVB. His representative works include the films "Dark Knight" and "Newlywed Sister," as well as the TV series "The Disciples' Journey," "Newlywed Brother," "My Fair Lady," "Jin Zhang Four Talents," "Golden Years," "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," "The Deer and the Bear," "Family Glory: The Successors," and "The Final Judge."
On October 27, news spread that Hui Sioo-sung had been hospitalized with critical condition. Many of his colleagues and friends in the industry, including Zhou Runfa, Miau Qiao-wei, Qi Meizhen,佘Shiman, Lam Fong, and Ngok Tak-fai, visited him at the hospital.
Hui Sioo-sung was known as a good husband and father. He married Long Yan, a Singaporean, for many years, and was famous for being devoted to his wife in the industry. In his early years, he often flew between Hong Kong and Singapore to be with his family. Hui Sioo-sung's family once posted photos at Shunde Qinghui Garden restaurant on social media, revealing his wife's background, which made people know that Qinghui Garden was actually his wife's ancestral heritage.
Hui Sioo-sung's last public appearance was on the Mid-Autumn Festival on October 6, when he dined with his daughter and some old friends. At the group photo, Hui Sioo-sung looked relaxed and showed no signs of illness.
Hui Sioo-sung was born in Hong Kong in 1948. When he was one year old, he returned to Guangzhou with his father to do business. According to TVB's public reports, his ancestors were the head of the four major salt merchants, Xue Bailing, and his great-grandfather was Xu Yingzhi, a minister of Emperor Ci Xi. His aunt, Xu Guangping, was the wife of modern Chinese writer Lu Xun. Hui Sioo-sung once said, "Compared to them, it's true that a big tree has withered branches, and a large family has beggars. I am both a withered branch and a beggar, and I am really far behind them."

In 1958, Hui Sioo-sung moved back to Hong Kong with his family, and his life underwent significant changes. His father, who used to run a business, became a worker, and later the family gradually started doing business again.
Later, based on his interests, Hui Sioo-sung helped out in his father's shop while taking a chance to apply for the TVB Artiste Training Class.
In 1972, after graduating from the first TVB Artiste Training Class, Hui Sioo-sung joined TVB. After working there for three years, he moved to ATV, and then returned to TVB four years later. While at ATV, he was the first actor to drive a Mercedes to work, so he was also called "Benz Hung."
In 1974, Hui Sioo-sung starred in the movie "Ghost and Star," alongside Xu Guanwen and Xu Guanjie brothers, where he played a confused character, marking his first film role.
In 1983, he appeared in the TVB version of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," playing Zhu Cong, the "Handsome Scholar" among the "Seven Heroes of Jiangnan." This was his first time entering the eyes of mainland Chinese audiences.
In 1984, the TV series "The Deer and the Bear," "Newlywed Brother," and "The Bat Legend of Chu Liu Xiang" were successively broadcast. In "Newlywed Brother," he played the maternal uncle of Zhang Weijie (played by Tony Leung).
