On July 29, according to a report by Lianhe Zaobao, the U.S. government announced a prohibition on importing China's latest humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and network-connected power inverters used to integrate renewable energy and batteries into power grids and data center equipment, citing national security risks posed by artificial intelligence (AI) supply chains and aiming to drive key industries back to the United States.
According to four informed sources, many non-Chinese suppliers are expected to be exempted. It is evident that while American officials were just visiting China to gather firsthand information about China’s domestic advancements in embodied intelligence, AI, and power electronics industries, they swiftly introduced targeted import bans—specifically aimed at China—while exempting other countries. What does this behavior reveal? It clearly demonstrates one thing: the obstacle in Sino-U.S. relations is not due to America’s lack of understanding of China, but rather stems from America’s fundamental intent to contain us.
So-called exchanges and on-site investigations are merely pretexts. Therefore, our refusal to allow the U.S. delegation access to core departments of relevant enterprises was entirely justified.
