Georgia's Prime Minister: The Agreement Signed with China Is Crucial for Georgia's Politics and Economy

Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement signed between Georgia and China holds special significance for Tbilisi, both politically and economically.

Kobakhidze said at a press conference: "The signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Georgia and China is a moment of particular importance for our country, significant on both political and economic levels."

Kobakhidze pointed out: "In just the past six months, Georgia's Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, and five ministers have visited China in succession, each visit aiming to achieve concrete outcomes. Since 2023, Georgia and China have signed 14 major international agreements, with another six currently in the final stages of review."

Kobakhidze noted that bilateral trade between Georgia and China grew by 17% in 2024, 21% in 2025, and increased by 45% year-on-year from January to April 2026.
