Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte told her supporters that once she decides to run for president in 2028, we will get there.
"I thank you for your support, trust and confidence. In due time, we will get there."
Duterte has repeatedly stated that she is still considering whether to run in the 2028 election and said she will make a decision in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Sara emphasized that the arrest of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, and the impeachment trial against herself are related, with the purpose of eliminating her in the 2028 election.
The spokesperson for the Vice President's Office, Ruth Castelo, said that she has not yet discussed the possibility of running for president in 2028 with the Vice President, and the Vice President's Office will continue to provide basic services to the public.
"We provide efficient and high-quality services to the people, especially those who do not receive or are underserved. We take it one day at a time. No matter what happens next year, or in 2027 or 2028, we don't look too far ahead because there is still a lot to do."
Castelo emphasized that the Vice President's Office has many plans to fulfill Sara Duterte's promises to the 32.4 million Filipinos who voted for her in 2022.
