Document: The U.S. Senate submitted a bill, proposing to impose sanctions on China for its support of Russia in the special military operation in Ukraine

According to the text of the bill obtained by Sputnik News, a group of U.S. senators submitted a bill that proposes to impose sanctions on China for its support of Russia in the special military operation in Ukraine.

This bill, named "STOP China and Russia Act," requires the U.S. government to determine whether China has provided material or information technology support to Russia, assisting Russia in conducting military operations within Ukraine.

The document states: "The President must submit a report to Congress within 180 days after the enactment of this bill, explaining whether the Chinese government or organizations associated with it have supported Russia's violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

If it is ultimately determined that support has been provided, the U.S. government will impose sanctions on Chinese legal persons and natural persons, including restricting their access to the U.S. financial system, prohibiting technology exports, and freezing assets in the U.S.

The bill also includes a separate section requiring sanctions against Chinese banks and other financial institutions, as the U.S. believes these institutions help Russia circumvent existing sanctions against Russia.
