Reference News Network October 9 report - According to Brazil's 247 News, on October 8, the Brazilian Meat Exporters Association stated that Brazil's beef exports to China in September increased by 38.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 187,340 tons, which helped boost Brazil's total beef exports for the month to a record level.
The report said that in the context of global trade restructuring due to the U.S. tariff policy, exports to both new and traditional markets have increased. Data shows that under the background of the "tariff war" with the United States, China has secured more products from the Brazilian market. In the soybean market, due to Chinese buyers avoiding U.S. soybeans, Brazil's exports also reached record levels.
The Brazilian Meat Exporters Association pointed out that global demand for Brazilian beef has helped the country avoid import tariffs imposed by the United States on Brazilian products.
The association said in a statement that in September, the total exports of the Brazilian beef industry (including fresh meat, processed meat, edible offal, and by-products such as fats) reached $1.92 billion in revenue and 373,867 tons of shipments. Compared to the same period in 2024, export value increased by 49%, and the volume of exports increased by 17%.
The association said in a statement: "This strong performance occurred in the second month after the U.S. government imposed additional tariffs on Brazilian products, indicating that the industry is successfully overcoming adversity and leveraging new business opportunities to offset the decline in sales to the U.S." (Translation/ Han Chao)
