It was reported that the relevant authorities of Hunan Province said they would conscientiously implement their local regulatory responsibilities, conduct a systematic investigation and establish records for local strategic mineral export enterprises, guide enterprises in building compliance systems, enhance enterprises' compliance awareness and capabilities, and ensure that control measures are fully implemented; Guangxi expressed its commitment to continuously strengthen supervision over the exploration and mining of national strategic minerals, and increase efforts to crack down on illegal mining activities such as unauthorized mining, overstepping boundaries, and mining instead of prospecting. In addition, relevant departments in Guizhou, Jiangxi, Yunnan, and other regions also stated that they would earnestly implement various tasks according to their respective responsibilities.
The report noted that China holds a dominant position in the production and processing of critical minerals globally.
Previously, the official website of the Ministry of Commerce published that the Office of the State Export Control Coordination Mechanism held a special meeting in Changsha, Hunan Province on May 12th, comprehensively deploying work for the local competent authorities of seven provinces including Inner Mongolia and Jiangxi under ten departments including the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; it required strengthening full-chain control over mining, smelting, processing, transportation, manufacturing, sales, and exports to effectively prevent the illegal outflow of strategic minerals.
